Snacks

Your child needs regular and nourishing snacks. At schools, many snacks are shared and swapped and forms part of your rascals “networking” skills.

  • Do encourage exciting tasty nutrient containing snack foods and drinks
  • Do offer:
    • Small rolls/pitta pockets/bagels filled with cheese or ham and salad or peanut butter and banana.
    • Pots of fromage frais or yogurt
    • Dried fruit and nuts
    • Cheese cubes and oatcakes
    • Bowl of breakfast cereal
    • Fresh fruit
    • Plain biscuits
    • Small sized chocolate biscuits as a treat
  • Drinks to have at snack time
    • Water or milk should always be encouraged thoughout the day.
    • Small milk/yogurt drink
    • Fruit smoothies without added sugar
    • Diluted fruit juice
