Dinner

  • Ensure that you include a food from each major food groups. Healthy eating is all about a little bit of everything you fancy. Some foods we should have in larger quantities than others.
  • The majority of a meal should be made of vegetables and starchy foods.
  • The meal should also include a lean protein food – meat, fish, poultry, eggs or alternatives.
  • For dessert, try and offer a dairy dessert e.g. fromage frais, yogurt, custard and fruit, rice pudding with a sprinkle of chopped up fruit.
  • As a drink, offer water with the meal.
